God Story

We recently launched Tribe Nights at AFN, providing a time for the youth to connect with each other and God through various activities. Our first tribe night included playing Price is Right, enjoying Chick-fil-A, and exploring the power of testimonies.

God guided us in deepening our connection with the youth through the power of their testimonies, showing how His influence has shaped their lives. We used illustrations to facilitate this process. We shared our testimonies with the youth and gave them the chance to express their own. Many revealed experiences we were unaware of, such as dark times, loss, death, and addictions. The youth were able to clearly depict the moments when change and healing began. Afterward, several youth approached me to share their stories and express gratitude for being part of AFN. For some of the youth we serve, they consider AFN their church for various reasons, including it being the first place they encounter Jesus. It is an honor to witness how God has used this place to draw a generation to Himself. We all have a God story, and it is a blessing to be part of theirs. As we continue to move forward with what God has called us to in this community, our hope is that the youth will continue to share their God stories at school, with their families, and with friends. We know there is power in a testimony. For our leaders the chance to also share our stories with the youth, was a reminder on how much God has delivered us from and how much He continues to do.
