While AFN youth are a mix of personalities and backgrounds, I tend to see the shy youth. And the youth that are picked on. And the youth lacking in confidence. And the youth walking alone. And the youth trying to figure out who they are amongst traumatic peer commentary. I really see a youthful self.
I recall the traumas of youth. The trauma of rejection. The trauma of name calling. The trauma of verbal attacks. The trauma of abuse.
Most important, I recall the faithfulness of God. To provide a loving family. To provide community. To provide a spouse. To provide confidence. To provide forgiveness. To heal the traumas.
Philippians 1:6: “…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
AFN is a place of healing. A shelter from the storm called life. A place to overcome it. A place to grow beyond it.
God is consistently the path presented. By teaching truth through God’s Word. By proclaiming God’s Faithfulness to all generations. By worshiping God for who He is. By praising God for all He has done. By resounding God’s Work in the lives of leaders and youth. By loving youth and their families through God’s Holy Spirit.
In Jesus’ name, Bedford will be healed by God’s mighty hand!
